Distant views as far as to the "Eiger north wall"

Nestled in the unique prealps of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch, the village of Marbach and its natural terrace at alt. 1500 m have much to offer, including an original, intact village that's over seven centuries old and views of the distant Alps. The heritage-protected village is a monument of national importance and boasts a show dairy and Lourdes grotto, while the gondola cableway conveys visitors to the sun-blessed Berggasthaus Marbachegg inn.

Numerous footpaths and trails lead through the prealpine landscape, including to the inn at Kemmeriboden Bad, known for its legendary huge meringues. In summer the Marbachegg is a popular setting-off point for paragliders and hang-gliders; the local flying school can also arrange one-off tandem flights for visitors.
